2023 Application to Umpire 
Canadian and Western Canadian Championships

 

All applicants wishing to umpire at a Canadian or Western Canadian Championships must have received a written evaluation during the 2020, 2021, or 2022 softball season.

 

If you received a written evaluation from a tournament other than a Provincial, Western Canadian or Canadian Championship - click on the link at the bottom of the application or submit to sbcumpires@gmail.com 

 

To be the primary selection for a Canadian Championship you must be:

 

- A full Level III official for U15-U20 all gender levels.

- If you are 4T , you may be awarded full Level IV status at the U19 Women's or U20 Men's.

- U23 Men's and Women's, Women's, Men's, and Master Men's, all applicants must be a minimum full Level IV official.

Those umpires applying for events in which a Level IV or V certification may be awarded are expected to submit their Fitness Testing results set forth by Softball Canada and the WBSC to Susan Strafford at the time of application.  Fitness results must be emailed to Susan before the closing date of 11:59 PM on January 15th, 2023.

Secondary appointments can be made to Level II applicants for U15-U17 Canadian Championships.

 

To ensure consideration, your completed form must contain all information requested and be received no later than 11:59 PM on January 15th, 2023.

 

Those selected will be notified in Winter 2023.

 

***Additional selections may be made as fill in spots become available closer to the tournament date.*** Notification of Fill In Assignments will not occur until Mid-June, at the earliest.

 

For umpires selected for WCSA Championships, you will need to have the full Softball Canada uniform.
